Winter Prep 101: Tire Pressure

There are lots of safety hazards that cause roadblocks when it comes to winter driving, yet we all have to drive so much more! Holiday parties, shopping for perfect gifts, ski trips, and cozy getaways make this season just as car-filled as any other. To make sure that you, and all the presents, ski-gear, and dishes-to-pass are safe and sound amidst the holiday chaos, the first step is checking your tire pressure.

The icy winter temperatures can cause the air in your tires to contract causing a loss in pressure. This under inflation can remain unnoticeable until the tires are 50% under inflated, which can cause braking issues, irregular wear and tear, and sometimes even blowouts. Under inflated tires also cause vehicles to get lower gas mileage. Driving with under-inflation is a dangerous situation that can be easily addressed.

Before you take a drive through our winter wonderland, stop into one of our locations to get your tire pressure checked. You’ll have peace of mind and be able to enjoy this cheerful season.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season!
