Perfect Ways to Spend a Fall Day in Michigan

Fall is here and we couldn’t be happier. Michigan is a great place to live all the time, but fall makes us feel extra lucky we get to call this place home. The colors of the leaves aren’t the only thing to see this year. We’ve rounded up some of the ways to spend a perfect fall day in Michigan.

Upcoming Harvest Festivals

Harvest festivals are popping up across the state. If you’re looking for some family-fun, check out some of these!

Fall Harvest Festival, Midland
September 30
Learn about life in the 19th century and participate in fun D.I.Y.s and crafts for all ages.

Boyne City Harvest Festival
September 30
Walk through the main streets of Boyne City and enjoy a craft fair, farmer’s market, and music with an autumn twist.

Zoo Boo, Detroit
October 6—8
Visit the Detroit Zoo for haunted exhibits, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin decor.

Fayette State Park Fall Fest, Garden
October 7
If you’re looking for a more outdoorsy-autumn activity, camp at the Fayette State Park and enjoy hayrides, decorating, and halloween-activities.

Holland Fall Fest
October 13—14
This fall fest has everything you’d want out of the season, hayrides, crafts, and even a professional pumpkin carving competition!

Fall Color Viewing

Think outside the trails when it comes to seeing the fall colors this year! Trails are — of course — a must-do this year, but one color viewing is never enough. Here are some really cool ways to get the best views.

Color Cruise and Island Festival, Grand Ledge
October 13—15
Climb aboard a riverboat and view the leaves like the pioneers did! Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride and tons of fall activities while you’re there too! There’s enough to do to fill the three days that the festival stays open.

Haven Harvest Festival, South Haven
October 20—22
After you’ve spent the day tasting fall flavors like apples, pumpkins, and pies, take a cruise on the haunted Lindy-Lou river launch across the Black River.

These fun fall events and activities are popping up all over the state. Luckily, Wonderland has locations all over the state too. Wherever your fall adventures take you, there’s a Wonderland nearby to help out with any road-trip preparation, emergency service, or simple safety-checks to ensure this fall is your best yet. Check out our locations and find your neighborhood shop.
