Even though winter can create difficult driving conditions, we have holiday errands, parties, and travel that keep us on the roads. If you have to be on the road, there are measures you can take to prevent accidents from occurring — and, if they do occur — to be able to get to safety quickly.
You should always be ready for an emergency, but during the winter, there are a few extra essentials you should add to your driving kit in case of a roadside emergency. Having some tools to help dig yourself out of snow banks and get traction on slippery surfaces will help you get out of the cold and to safety faster.
Remember: Don’t just think about your vehicle and forget about your own needs. Remember to have some extra food, water, and blankets or clothing for warmth.
We put together the attached printable checklist that you should consult before you try to venture out into less than ideal conditions.
