Happy New Year! 2017 flew by. Actually, the past several years have flown by. When was the last time you checked your tires? It’s hard to know when tires have reached their expiration. Here are some handy tips to help you keep track of the years on your tires.

Annual check-ins.

Your tires should be inspected by professionals once a year, especially once they hit their five year mark.

Five to Ten year lifespan.

Depending on their quality and usage, tires typically last around ten years. If your tires are ten years old, or approaching it, you should think about replacing them. If your tires seem to be in good condition and are ten years old or more, you should have them looked at by a professional.

Take care of your tires.

Frequent rotations, maintaining tire pressure, and taking car of your vehicle in general will extend your tire’s longevity.

Keep in mind, with our chilly weather, tires may not last as long as they would in more mild climates. Using summer tires in winter conditions can also contribute to damage.
